    Meridian Tests for Paediatric Patients

Pertussis and Group A Strep cause highly contagious respiratory diseases.Pertussis is underreported, underdiagnosed and can be fatal, especially in babies less than 1 year of age. illumigene® Pertussis is highly sensitive and specific. High prevalence rates of Group A Strep pharyngitis among school-age children provides evidence for use of routine diagnostic tests to discriminate between Group A Strep and viral pharyngitis. Serologic tests for Pertussis are only useful for diagnosis in the later phases of the disease whilst for Group A Strep the immuno rapid tests are not sensitive enough.

ImmunoCard STAT!® HpSA® HD is a rapid lateral flow immunoassay that utilizes a monoclonal anti-H. pylori antibody as the capture and detector antibodies. The test is non-invasive and a result is indicated after 5 minutes of incubation at room temperature. This rapid test does not require any expensive equipment and can be conducted easily with children, without the need for fasting nor an appointment. Parents need only provide a stool sample from their child to their health practitioner for a rapid and accurate diagnosis.

ImmunoCard STAT!® CAMPY is an immunochromatographic rapid test for the qualitative detection of Campylobacter antigens in human stool. It detects both viable and non-viable organisms and provides greater sensitivity over culture. ImmunoCard STAT!® CAMPY is simple to use and results obtained in less than 30 minutes permit prompt and accurate patient treatment.

ImmunoCard STAT!® Norovirus is a rapid and sensitive immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of Norovirus antigens in human stool. The ImmunoCard STAT!® Norovirus format delivers rapid results within the same day, irrespective of when an outbreak occurs.

ImmunoCard STAT!® EHEC is an immunochromatographic rapid and simple test for the qualitative detection of Shiga toxins produced by E. coli in cultures derived from stool specimens. ImmunoCard STAT!® EHEC differentiates between Shiga toxin 1 (Stx1) and Shiga toxin 2 (Stx2), more commonly associated with HUS. The rapid diagnosis provided by ImmunoCard STAT!® EHEC permits optimal patient management and public health surveillance.

illumigene® Mycoplasma DNA amplification assay, performed on the illumipro-10™, is a qualitative in vitro diagnostic test for the direct detection of DNA from Mycoplasma pneumoniae in human throat and nasopharyngeal swabs obtained from patients suspected of having Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.

TRU RSV® is a rapid, qualitative, lateral-flow immunoassay for the detection of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) antigens (fusion protein or nucleoprotein) in human nasal wash, nasopharyngeal aspirate, and nasal and nasopharyngeal swab samples. It is designed to test specimens from symptomatic patients aged five years or less.

TRU STREP PNEUMO™ assay is an in vitro, rapid, lateral-flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Streptococcus pneumoniae in human urine or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) specimens. The test is performed directly on urine or CSF samples from patients suspected of Streptococcus pneumoniae infection. Test results are to be used as an aid in diagnosis of Streptococcus pneumoniae infection. Test results are to be used in conjunction with information obtained from the patient’s clinical evaluation and other diagnostic procedures.

✱TRU RSV is labeled for use with patients < 5 years of age (See Intended Use).
✱ImmunoCard STAT! Norovirus includes a limitation regarding testing of meconium and samples from patients less than 1 month old (See Limitations of the Procedure).
